This forum is in desperate need of more members! The more members we have, the more closely this forum simulates an actual world. If you would like to join, here are the steps. They might seem overly complicated, but each one only needs to be done once for you to have unlimited access to the world of Spaeculum.

Register for this forum. All that means is that you click on the word "Register" in the upper right-hand corner of this forum and follow the steps. You're going to need to create a username and give your email address. The username can be anything you like. Once you've completed the process, you should get a notification saying that you need to create a character before an admin can approve you for membership. Copy and paste the link in that notification into your browser's navigation to create your character.

Create your character. Take your time with this section! Once you create a character, it will be considerably more difficult to change it than it was to create it. Use the races list to learn about the difference races you can choose from, the different places your character could be from, and other information that you probably don't know already. When you're sure you like your character the way he or she is, click the "Submit" button. An administrator will either accept or reject you (almost certainly accept) and then PM you to welcome you aboard.

Edit your profile. Now you need to adjust your profile. To do that, go to the "Profile" button at the top of the page (I know, shocking, isn't it?). Click "Edit Profile", which is toward the right-hand side of the page.

Fix your avatar. It's the first thing that you see on your edit profile page, but it does take some time, so we'll be nice about this one. Try to have a picture up within a week. Don't use a picture of a famous person. Don't use a picture copyrighted by someone else. I don't care if you draw it yourself or pay a friend chocolate to draw it or get it off of Google Images. Just don't have that awkward blank profile picture. Don't use ProBoards avatars unless you are really, really desperate. If you're going to use an avatar maker, at least use a good one. And please don't upload a picture of yourself. That's just awkward.

Fix your personal info. To do that, just click on the "Personal" tab while you're editing your profile. The first thing you need to deal with is your display name. Make sure that you have that set to your character's first name! Then you can have fun with the rest. The most important things are at the bottom: Race, Age and Hometown. Just fill these out according to how you answered the survey.

Post something. This is hopefully why you created an account in the first place. (If it's not, then we need to talk.) Introduce yourself on the Introductions Board. Find a place to start somewhere in Spaeculum and begin your character's adventure. If you're not sure where to start, find another member to start an interaction with.
